Only one game took place this weekend with Kerry travelling to Cork County in a Division 3 match.on Sunday. Cork won the toss and decided to bat. and were soon in trouble losing two wickets for fourteen runs.
Young opener Coleman was providing stubborn resistance and with various support acts eventually scored an excellent 58 and helped County reach 145.
Eddie Garczynski took 3 wickets for 16 runs, Sean Rutland 2 wickets for 8runs and Ron Kimber took 2 for15 which included the two most dangerous batsman.
James Allman and Niaal Riaz took excellent catches but generally the catching and fielding still looked below standard,
The Kerry batting was woeful and only amassed 61 runs. THe poor weather has disrupted match continuity and practice sessions but this excuse hardly justifies this feeble effort.
Next weekend there are important cup games at Waterford on Saturday in the junior cup and at Tralee rugby club on Sunday against Limerick in the minor cup. If the batsman show the lack of ability and fight witnessed today their cup exploits will be over for the season.
