20/20 Kilcolman V Killarney 5th July 2012

This evening saw the dawn of a new cricket club with the debut of Kilcolman against reigning champions Killarney. Kilcolman had several key players missing and  the team was largely made up of inexperienced players and ring rusty older players.Kilcolman captain Ron Kimber won the toss and decided to bat. Wickets fell with regularity and only one player made double figures. Batsman Gideon de Swardt retired hurt which further limited the batting team. The final total of 45 in 20 overs was never going to be a challenge. The bowlers from Killarney were excellent giving only five extras, Jamils figures of 4 overs 3 wickets 10 runs being the best.

In reply Kuram and Ahmed opened for Killarney and wasted no time in knocking off the runs in under 6 overs.

Killarney look like the team to beat but surely a large step forward for Kilcolman in knowing what they need to aim for to succeed.
